And it was in the darkest of corners that he rediscovered a treasure; a long-forgotten watercolour self portrait hidden between the pages of an old volume of poems. The moment it fluttered to the floor, his heart leaped. What if he had never thought to reorder his shelves or pick up that book? What a chance! And so, with the gentlest of care, he carried it down the library ladder.
