About
Perched high in an old workshop overlooking the city of Melbourne, Uncle Crocky makes weird and wonderful curiosities printed from handdrawn ink-on-paper drawings and stories tapped out on vintage typewriters. We work in small batches, and use the most local, environmentally-friendly and ethical materials we can find. Treasures are then assembled, finished and packaged by hand (claw!).
Uncle Crocky's workshop opened in late 2023, first overlooking the ocean in a secret location in New Zealand, until in 2024 Uncle Crocky packed his steamtrunkers and moved to Australia. Together with his team of eccentrics, Uncle Crocky makes treasures in a room filled with old wooden desks, typewriters, drawers of ephemera, overflowing bookcases, wooden cases of sketchbooks, a tower of near-bursting notebooks, and his beloved piano.
Uncle Crocky’s world and objects are inspired by old and odd things: unusual statues, mysterious buildings, old clocks, vintage typewriters, maps and globes, secret codes, sea and star charts, abandoned lighthouses, antique musical instruments, wooden rulers, suitcases of memories, handwritten notes, half-full bottles of ink and lost-then-found-again books.
